Good day,

I’m most interested in the webinar:
Storytelling and Culturally Responsive Literacy Practices for and about Native American Students

Hi, fellow educators!

I am Danielle Peterson, a Secondary Gifted and Talented Facilitator, in Katy, Texas. I am looking forward to gaining more insight in SEL since gifted people tend to struggle socially, and many of our gifted students have gotten off track due to Covid. Culturally Responsive Teaching also interests me because if teachers know and understand CRTeaching, more students will know their strengths, their value, and their worth, which will tremendously impact the success of students.

This is very helpful to hear from you , Danielle! We will keep these needs in mind while we review conference proposals. I would encourage colleagues in this community to share resources they have found helpful in the meantime. We look forward to "seeing" you online in March. Best, Susan

My daughter was "Gifted." She shared that while there was a stigma one of the opportunities she appreciated was continuing to learn with the same group of students for 7 + years. They are still a connected group.
I do not even remember the names of students from middle school except the one that bullied me every day.

My name is Brandi Hanson, and I'm a 6th grade science teacher in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

I'd love to see a session with live, virtual tools that can be used to check for understanding during a lesson. Not necessarily something that needs prep, but can be pulled up and implemented on the fly, with either in-person or virtual students (or a mix). And, as always, any sessions about differentiation will always have my interest.

There is a company called Formative that is going to pitch their product to me this Monday. It sounds promising. It specializes in data driven teaching.

Is English your first language? Many of my students speak several languages and English may be their fourth language. It is difficult to determine what some students have learned.

Greetings!

Always look forward to our spring conference. What are ways, as a retired member, can I stay involved in advocating on The Hill?

Listen and help find successes!
Help spread the word about successes.
Look at teachers who have succeeded only to leave the profession after short periods, 3-4 years. This is not sustainable.
I am so glad you are going to be a part of this opportunity.

We need to share more about preschool and items that we create to use in our classrooms. Most of our preschools use Creative Classroom and Heggerty. I have created many items for these curriculums as supports.
