About This Webinar
Join Mind My Education and Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media for a webinar on metacognition and critical thinking.
How can we effectively engage students in critical thinking across all subjects or projects? Teaching it seems hard, but it can be enjoyable when students own their own learning process.
First, Mind My Education will review recent research on metacognition (a key critical thinking skill that helps direct our thinking and learning). We’ll explore step-by-step practices to boost intrinsic learning motivation on ANY subject standards, curriculum, projects, or skills you teach... personal goal setting too!
Next, Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media at George Mason University will lead us in a discussion on how solving and creating online challenges using primary sources can help students develop historical thinking skills and civic understanding with the free, engaging online interactive, Eagle Eye Citizen, a project funded by the Library of Congress.
Participants will leave with strategies for using Eagle Eye Citizen in their classrooms and powerful tips and simple tools such as CoreAtlas from Mind My Education to spark critical thinking and focused feedback in your classroom.
