About This Lesson
In this lesson, students watch Amar, a short film by Andrew Hinton, which follows a 14-year-old boy from Jamshedpur, India through the routines of his day. Amar is the main income-earner in his family and balances two jobs with his pursuit of an education. In classroom discussion, students explore their own daily routines and discuss how goals and other sources of motivation can help one persevere through challenging times. Reflective writing prompts are also included for students to demonstrate their understanding of the story.

Love the film! I only wish there were a guided notes packet to go with it. I will be using this with my Spanish classes.
