About This Lesson

Eugene Friesen casts a spell on his audience as he illustrates stories through songs, masks and inventive techniques on cello and electric cello. Within the story, Eugene transforms his characters with masks and costumes and uses a variety of musical styles which include blues, contemporary, folk, electronic and pop. The lessons explore the concepts of sound vibration, duet improvisation, and how to write a story with a musical instrument as a main character. The universal theme of Transformation is highlighted.
