About This Lesson
In this lesson, students will learn how our lifestyles have changed, including our habits of eating and working, since the emergence of fast food restaurants. In addition, students will explore how the emergence of minimum wage jobs affected the livelihood of lower and middle-class Americans. Can Americans achieve “The American Dream” by working minimum wage jobs? Students write a two paragraph non-fictional, informational piece similar to the text from Chapter 3 in Fast Food Nation.
