About This Lesson
Objective: Students will be able to interpret data on MANIA posters and integrate quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis to explain the causes of WWI.
The sourcing information is incomplete, which did make it difficult for students in some ways. I encourage you to review the resource and add sourcing information to simplify the lesson for your students. Please see the World War I Unit Plan and Assessment I shared for links.
I compiled all of the documents into folders labeled for MANIA. Students worked in groups to review the documents and explain the cause of World War I. Then, they created a poster so that they could explain their cause to the rest of the class.
I did this lesson first, but realized my students needed more support. MANIA Causes WWI (Part 2) (also shared) is how I supplemented that, but may be beneficial to do first.
Way too much reading some of which is wholly unnecessary to understand the causes of WWI. Very little of value or use here, otherwise it would be a one-star review. Overall, pretty terrible.
