About This Webinar

Join NBC News Parent Toolkit and Share My Lesson for a webinar on social-emotional development.

The emphasis on children’s social-emotional development has been a movement gaining traction within education for years now. But building social-emotional skills is about much more than learning to “play nice.” For example, it’s also about showing children the importance of critical thinking, setting goals and persevering. But how do these skills affect students on their path from the classroom to the workforce?

Experts will answer this question and discuss how educators and parents can rethink the way our children learn and why these skills are essential for students’ employability. Featured resources include NBC News’ Parent Toolkit social-emotional learning section and college & career resources, specifically the article, 5 Ways to Prepare Kids for Jobs That Don’t Exist Yet, as well as highlights from The Wonder Wall: Leading Creative Schools and Organizations in an Age of Complexity.

Professional Credit

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

Share My Lesson is now a New York State Education Department-approved provider for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) requirements and an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approved Professional Development provider.
