About This Webinar

Join Miriam Rollin, Director, Education Civil Rights Alliance and Share My Lesson for a highly informative webinar on racial equality in school and community.

Since George Floyd's brutal murder in 2020, educators have been more interested than ever before in seeking racial equity in their communities and their schools. But what is happening in schools today regarding equity for students of color and students with disabilities when it comes to student behavior? And what can educators do to advance equity for students of color and students with disabilities when it comes to student behavior? How do the different settings of Remote, Hybrid or In-Person learning impact equity in addressing student behavior?

A team of presenters -- award-winning educators and education equity policy/litigation experts -- will explore these questions with participants in an engaging and participatory session. Tips and tools for educators will be provided.

Professional Credit

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

Share My Lesson is now a New York State Education Department-approved provider for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) requirements. Thank you so much for the tag

Thank you so much for the tag line of " instead of struggling student, look at struggling policies, curriculum, and structures." That is the perspective that needs to happen in our public schools. Thank you!

Too much information, Too

Too much information, Too fast. It's overloaded. Lessen the amount of content for one hour. I think more stories and examples would be better. Also, one poll question didn't make sense to me I needed more explanation on what the answers mean. When you go through so much information so fast, it can be difficult for some people to process. (educators can have disabilities, too, for which your presentation may have not been effective). Also, slow down when explaining how to use a website, (I didn't have trouble following this part), but some people may want to write down steps for their own reference or do the steps with you to follow along. I felt the presentation was very rushed. I think the content was good but needed to be explained better. Again, less information in a one hour time span or extend the time. I felt it was very poorly planned for the given amount of time.

This session was primarily

This session was primarily about the accomplishments of the speakers. They referenced nice ideas, However didn't share application practices. One hour was simply an introduction to many ideas. Quick reference of how to access school data was useful, but rapidly reviewed. More discussion about the implications and why/how teachers can respond to challenges and avoid suspension/exclusionary discipline. They referenced polls, but I couldn't locate and then they moved on quickly. I really hoped to gain materials to use in my classroom and impact students. I did not.

Great information about

Great information about participants and pats on the back. Would have enjoyed more resources I could use for my classroom rather than listen to all of the presenters accomplishments for a hour

For such a major topic this

For such a major topic this was a good overview. However, where do we go to go deep? really get to the heart of the matter? I was looking for ways to identify racial inequalities that may be harmful to my students that I am unintentionally unaware of. Jemelleh Coeh's explination of her own though processes of reflection was a great help.
