Reinforcing Students’ SEL Competencies Through a Restorative Justice Mindset

Sarah Zurbuchen is Senior Director of Education+ (formerly known as WE Schools), a platform empowering teachers and students to address critical social issues in their classrooms and communities, all while building the key social and emotional skills to be future-ready, confident global citizens.  Sarah leads educational programming and curriculum development, community engagement, and strategic partnerships.  As an active member of her local community, Sarah has previously served as Board Chair with the Canadian Mental Health Association and teaches English to newcomers to Canada through a local settlement agency.

Sarah has a BSc in Journalism from Ohio University, and a TESOL 2 Teaching Credential from the University of the Fraser Valley.

Bushra Ul-Haq is the Director of Educational Programs and Resources at Education+. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where she received a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Education. She has been an elementary school teacher, and she has been designing educational programs for international organizations for the last decade. Bushra is passionate about the work she gets to do developing educational programs and designing curricula for teachers in supporting their classrooms.
