They Should Have Sent a Poet: War & Poetry

Though poetry can be used to examine a number of topics, I feel that it is especially illuminating when exploring war. Here, I discuss three poems I regularly use in my class on American history; however, the principles I outline can easily be used to explore other parts of the world and other times in history.
