About This Lesson

Creative writing prompts that run a gamut of situations and emotions (from “When I stuck my tongue to the frozen metal…” to “I could feel my opponents closing in on me, and I skied faster to keep my lead…”). Promotes writing skills, creative thinking, and prompt writing pieces that students can share. Can be used with mini-lessons to teach basic skills, or for assessment of writing skills.

Share in small or whole group settings and display students' writings, fiction and non-fiction, for all to read.

Aligned to Common Core State Standards: W.3.1, W.3.2, W.4.1, W.4.2, W.5.1, W.5.2
