Johanna Josaphat is a Founding Teacher and Teacher Leader at The Urban Assembly Unison School in Brooklyn, NY. She holds a BA in Psychology, M.S. Ed in Foundations of Education, and an M.S. Ed in Elementary Education from Hofstra University. Currently, Johanna is pursuing a Certificate of Advanced Study in SEL Leadership and Doctorate in Leadership & Management. Johanna Josaphat has been a Middle School teacher with the NYC Department of Education since 2002.
As a classroom teacher, Johanna has always worked to develop her professional practice to improve the quality of learning opportunities for all students.
As an ASI Civics Fellow, Johanna is interested in exploring the connections between civic engagement and learning in the school community and developing authentic civic engagement opportunities for all learners.
