Share My Lesson’s free, for-credit 2025 Virtual Conference will run from Tuesday to Thursday, March 25-27. We want to ensure you get the most out of these engaging sessions while earning the professional development credit you need. To help you maximize your experience, we’ve gathered some key tips.

If you haven’t already planned which sessions to attend, check out Kelly Booz’s blog, "PD in Your PJs: The 2025 Share My Lesson Virtual Conference" for a preview of a variety of timely and engaging webinar topics.

And remember—be sure to enter the sweepstakes for your chance to win 1 of 3 Oura wellness health rings. Plus, for each session you register for, you’ll get a bonus code for the sweepstakes for more chances to win. Enter now.

Note: All sessions will be available on demand with closed captioning in English and Spanish after the live broadcast. If you’ve already registered, you’ll receive an email with the on-demand link once it’s available.

Get to Know Your Bottom Toolbar

To fully participate in your session, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the bottom toolbar when you log in (see the panel under the yellow arrow in the image below).

From left to right, you’ll find widgets for the media player, resource list, slides, speaker bio(s), Q&A, group chat, certification, evaluation, share experience link and reactions. The toolbar lets you open or close widgets as needed during the webinar, and several will already be open when you join. If you accidentally close one, no worries—just click it again to reopen.

Tip: If you’re having trouble seeing a video or presentation, start by checking the toolbar to ensure the correct widget is open.

Connect and Engage in the Group Chat

Just because the conference is virtual doesn’t mean you can’t interact with others. Open the group chat widget to connect with colleagues and discuss the webinar topic in real time.

When you log in, kick things off by introducing yourself—share where you’re from, your role and what excites you about the session. Throughout the webinar, presenters may also prompt discussion in the chat, so be sure you know where to find this widget from the start.

Jump in, share your insights and make the most of this interactive experience!

Express Yourself: Share Reactions in Real Time

Presenters love seeing your reactions. Show us what you think during the webinar by using the emoji reaction button. It’s a quick and easy way to show if you like, love, or even dislike what’s being shared. Your reactions not only help presenters gauge engagement but also provide valuable feedback on what resonates most with you.

Go ahead—express yourself and enhance the experience for everyone.

Ask Questions in the Q&A Widget

Have a question? Whether it’s for the presenters or tech support, be sure to use the Q&A widget instead of the group chat. This ensures your question is seen and answered by the right people.

The Q&A widget won’t be open when you log in, so if you need it, just click on it in the toolbar to access it. We’re here to help—don’t hesitate to ask!

Tech Check: Set Yourself Up for Success

Follow these technology tips to ensure a smooth webinar experience:

  • Use a laptop or desktop for the best experience. Note: You won’t be able to download your professional development certificate from a smartphone or tablet. However, you can log in from a desktop or laptop as soon as an hour after the webinar to access the certificate.
  • Choose the right browser. For the best performance, use Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox.
  • Fix audio issues quickly. If you still hear lobby music after the webinar starts or experience other sound problems, try refreshing your screen.
  • Improve connectivity. If you’re having trouble staying connected, close any other applications that may be using up bandwidth.

By checking these in advance, you’ll be all set for a seamless experience.

Closed Captioning and Live Translation

Closed captioning in English is now available for live viewing within the platform.

If you’d like live captioning with translation in another language, you can enable it through Google Chrome by following these steps:

  1. Open Google Chrome on your Windows, Mac or Linux computer.
  2. Click the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Select "Settings" from the menu.
  4. In the left sidebar, expand the "Advanced" section and select "Accessibility."
  5. Toggle on "Live Caption."
  6. Under "Supported Live Caption languages," add your preferred language and set it as the default.
  7. Toggle on "Live Translate."
  8. Under "Translate captions to," select your preferred language.

Troubleshooting Display Issues

If you are only seeing the presenters speaking, you may have clicked “full screen” or “maximize” on the media player.

  • If your view is only full screen, press Esc on your keyboard to exit.
  • If your view is maximized, click the square icon in the top right corner of the media player to minimize it. (See image below.)

Rate Your Experience

Help us improve and guide other Share My Lesson (SML) community members by rating and reviewing the webinar. Your feedback lets us know what worked well and what we can improve to better serve your needs.

There are two ways to share your thoughts:

  1. Public Rating & Review: At the end of the webinar, a prompt will appear for you to rate and review the session directly on the SML site. Your review will be visible to other SML members, helping them decide whether to watch the session on demand.
  2. Private Evaluation: You can also leave an evaluation by clicking the evaluation button in the platform’s toolbar (see image below). This feedback is only visible to the presenters and the Share My Lesson team.

We appreciate your input—your feedback helps us create even better webinars for you and the SML community!
